“Pancakes, Plot Twists & Auntie Magic”

Coco had survived a week that felt like it deserved its own warning label. So on Friday, she clocked out early like, “Respectfully… I’m done,” and rushed home determined to squeeze every drop out of her weekend.
Even though she loved her own place, she couldn’t stop thinking about her great aunt’s legendary Saturday breakfasts.
Coco grabbed her keys. “Fine. If I can’t have Auntie’s breakfast, I’ll become Auntie.”
At the store, she loaded up her cart.
“Pancakes? Check.”
“Veggie omelette? Check.”
“Extra cheese?” She paused. “Let’s not be shy double check.”
Saturday morning came, and Coco woke up early, ready to chef it up.
She tied on her apron. “Alright, Coco, don’t embarrass yourself.”
Knock knock.
Coco blinked. “Who is knocking this early? If it’s responsibility, I’m not answering.”
She opened the door and there stood her great aunt, holding grocery bags and smiling like she knew she just won.
“Auntie?!”
“Well, you didn’t think I’d let you struggle with pancakes, did you?” her aunt teased, walking in like she owned the place (which, honestly, she spiritually did).
Coco laughed. “I was about to make breakfast!”
“Mhm,” her aunt said, peeking at the ingredients. “And I was about to save you from it.”
Soon, the kitchen filled with the smell of fluffy pancakes, sizzling veggies, and a generous amount of cheese.
Coco took a bite and closed her eyes. “Yep. Still undefeated.”
Her aunt smiled. “You work hard. You deserve soft mornings too.”
They spent the rest of the morning eating, laughing, and arguing over what movie to watch.
“Not that one,” Coco said.
“Why not?”
“Because last time you cried before the opening credits.”
“I like to prepare emotionally,” her aunt replied.
Coco shook her head, smiling.
Life really does have a funny way of giving us our wants showing up sometimes right when you need it the most.
